BibleNow! ("the App", "we", "us", "our") is developed by Betah Coding. We respect your privacy. BibleNow! is an offline-first application: it does not require an account for normal use, and it does not collect personal information for our own use.

This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles and how.

Summary

• The App works offline. Your data (preferences, optional nickname, favorites, highlights, reading position) stays on your device.
• We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking, and the App contains no third-party tracking SDKs.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information.

Information stored on your device

The following is stored only on your device (in the App's local storage) and is not transmitted to us:

• An optional display name / nickname you may enter.
• App preferences: theme, primary color, verse font, text size, text alignment, view mode, language, audio voice and speech rate, verse-navigator style.
• Favorites and word/verse highlights you create.
• Your last reading position / session.
• A record of which "What's new" notes you have already seen.

You can remove this data at any time from Settings (reset settings, erase highlights, erase favorites) or by uninstalling the App.

Information we collect

We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal information to our servers. The App has no account system required for reading the Bible.

Network connections and third-party services

Reading works fully offline. The App may make limited network connections for:

• App store review prompts — we may ask your device's app store (Apple App Store / Google Play) to display a rating prompt. This is handled entirely by Apple/Google; we do not receive personal data.
• External links — links to our website and donation pages (e.g. PayPal, Trakteer) open in your browser. Once you leave the App, the privacy policies of those third parties apply.
• Text-to-speech (read aloud) — reading verses aloud uses your device's built-in text-to-speech engine (provided by Apple, Google, or the engine you have selected). The verse text is processed by that engine according to your operating-system settings.
• Sharing — sharing a verse uses your device's standard share sheet; what happens next depends on the app you choose to share with.

We do not control, and are not responsible for, the privacy practices of Apple, Google, your device's text-to-speech provider, your browser, or apps you share to.

Device permissions

• Internet access — used only for the limited features described above.
• The App does not request access to your location, camera, microphone, contacts, or photos.

Children's privacy

BibleNow! is suitable for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Because the App does not collect personal data, no special parental action is required.

Data security

Information you create in the App is stored on your device. We recommend protecting your device with a lock screen and your operating system's security features. No method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

Your choices

• Edit or clear your nickname, preferences, favorites, and highlights from within Settings.
• Uninstalling the App removes all data it stored on your device.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will indicate changes by updating the Effective date above and, where appropriate, within the App or on our website.
